Times have arguably never been crazier in America & that’s even trickled down into small town America - RIGHT HERE AT HOME. In recent days, schools throughout Kentucky have experienced numerous threats, including Muhlenberg County. There’s no denying the reality that parents are sending their children to school in more stressful times than ever before. There’s no denying a level of “crazy”, “unstable” & “wild” could best describe the temperature of our society today. There’s no denying kids face more unnecessary “evils” than ever before, EVEN HERE IN MUHLENBERG COUNTY! There’s ALSO no denying the reality that MCPS has a team of genuinely good people leading in our halls every day & GENUINELY CARE about the safety of our children. From our superintendent; Mrs Contessa Orr & all those at the board of education, to each staff member in each of our schools to our local law enforcement, our children’s safety is PRIORITY! Unfortunately, many in America 2024 are quick to work tirelessly to find blame on someone else., ESPECIALLY in these crazy, uncertain times. Everybody “knows” how to handle everything.. until they don’t. Instead of blaming, be assured those in places of leadership throughout our school district have our children’s best interest & safety as top priority, so in the meantime, BE SLOW TO BLAME, & QUICK TO LOVE, LEARN & ENGAGE with your children. Learn what’s going on in their lives, minds & how they’re feeling about things. Express your concerns to those in positions of authority, but do it right. (Maybe Facebook isn’t the way to throw blame) perhaps the most important thing to acknowledge in situations like this, YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW AS MUCH AS YOU THINK YOU DO! If we put aside the knit picking, can we honestly say we genuinely believe our MCPS staff doesn’t prioritize the safety of our children?!? My guess is NO WE CANT! Love on your children, engage with them & pray for our leaders, students & law enforcement! Lastly, tune in RIGHT HERE on Star 107.3 tomorrow at 7am as Superintendent Contessa Orr does a live address of the recent threats involving our schools. BE QUICK TO LOVE, LEARN & ENGAGE & SLOW TO BLAME!
