Let’s Do the Dock Trot 2024
LAKE MALONE, KY – The Muhlenberg County Tourism Commission is gearing up for Dock Trot 2024 and is excited to bring back this fun, annual event to Lake Malone! The event is set for Saturday, September 14th with a crowd-pleasing line-up of new and returning bands.
Dock Trot kicks off at 2:00 pm with the band Army of Life, winner of 92.5 WBKR the Country Station’s Friday Night Fight Nights Battle of the Bands. This talented, 70’s inspired band had the crowd on their feet and grooving at Owensboro's Friday After Five stage and took home the top prize. Army of Life will be playing classic covers inspired by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Humble Pie, ZZ Top and a few folk and soul artist until 3:30 pm. Army of Life will be located at the Tennessee Valley Authority Blue Dock Trot Stop.
From 3:15 pm to 4:45 pm, Stackin’ Eights, hits the “dock” at the Yellow Dock Trot Stop. Stackin’ Eights blends southern rocks’ spirit with an inclusive hippie vibe. Their intense mix of hard-edged rock, blues, and folk poetry creates a unique yet familiar sound.
Then at 4:30 pm, Charlies River will perform at the Lake Malone Boat Storage Orange Dock Trot Stop in beautiful Whiskey Bay. This unique blend of music is made up of Paul Hood, Laney Rice, and Gregory Allen. Years of preparation and playing countless shows have brought this group of talented singer/songwriters/entertainers to this present moment where they are on the verge of taking the local music scene by storm! Experience real original country music and a few of their favorite cover tunes. You can catch Charlies River playing until 6:00 pm.
Then at 6:00 pm get ready for the final band of the evening. Back by popular demand, local southern rock One Bullet Barney, will be preforming at the Michael E. Miller Remax Red Dock Trot Stop located at the Lake Malone State Park Beach. One Bullet Barney has been performing for over 10 years and are known for their energetic and powerful shows that leave the crowd wanting more. They can often be found performing at Hu-B’s in Kuttawa on Kentucky Lake during the weekends each summer. This is a great “land option” where attendees do not need a boat to enjoy the festivities, just bring a lawn chair.
