City of Bremen to Begin Long-Awaited Sidewalk Reconstruction Project

Bremen, KY — April 10, 2025After years of planning and preparation, the City of Bremen is set to officially break ground on a major sidewalk reconstruction project next week. The initiative, funded by a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant awarded by the State of Kentucky in 2017, aims to improve pedestrian infrastructure along Highway 81.


Construction is scheduled to begin the week of April 14 and will stretch from Bremen Elementary School to the Broadlinc Office, located near Fairview Road. The project is expected to take approximately three months to complete.


Bremen Mayor Allen Miller stated K-Mac from Madisonville was awarded the contract for construction of the sidewalks. Updates on construction progress and any potential traffic impacts will be shared with the public as the project moves forward.


In other news, it was revealed that work on a new Community Center in Bremen is underway and folks can expect news on it soon.
