Hay! Hay! Hay! - Bales in the Berg 2024
POWDERLY, KY – Hay! Hay! Hay! The Muhlenberg County Tourism Commission is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual “Bales in the Berg” Hay Bale Trail! This annual event begin in 2022 and was a huge success boasting 40+ hay bale displays going from one end of the county to the other!
This fun and creative event is where Muhlenberg County residents take ordinary hay bales and transform them into all sorts of grand displays. The “Bales in the Berg” trail will once again be on display October 1st – 31st. The creativity in the 2023 displays was off the charts and we cannot wait to see what the 2024 displays will encompass!
The registration period for the event is from August 26th – September 16th and it is completely FREE for businesses and residents to enter. Registration will be online only and a link to those forms can be found by visiting the Muhlenberg County Tourism Commission Facebook Page and checking out the pinned post at the top of the page.
Once registration closes, a map will be published electronically on October 1st showing where each hay bale creation is located. CASH Prizes will be awarded on November 1st to the top three winners in the following categories: Business, Residential and Non-Profit. These will be selected via the most “likes” on a special photo album on the MCTC’s Facebook page. There will also be a separate award for “Most Creative” in each category, selected by judges from outside Muhlenberg County.
“The MCTC is thrilled to bring back this fun event in 2024,” says MCTC Treasurer Logan Porter. “The event really brought the community together in 2023 and provided a great activity for visitors as well,” continued Porter.
